Beach and Swimming

Lake Conroe has two public access points for swimming. Lake Conroe Park is a popular location for visitors and residents who are looking to enjoy a part of Lake Conroe. It is located at 14968 Highway 105 West, Montgomery, Texas 77356, which is on the south side of the lake along TX Highway 105, in between Wolfies Restaurant and Papa’s on the Lake. Lake Conroe Park is 13 acres with multiple amenities including barbeque pits, picnic tables, restrooms, fishing piers, two pavilions that are available for rent, a multi-purpose field and sand volleyball court. Lake Conroe Park is run by Montgomery County Precinct 1. To make reservations on pavilions, and the rental rate fees please call 936-539-7815. Admission into the park is $2 per person, children under 5 years and seniors 65 or older are free.

Scott’s Ridge Swim Area is another public access for swimming which is located on the northwest side of Lake Conroe. This location is approximately 2 miles north of FM 1097 on Scott’s Ridge Road. The drive to Scott’s Ridge Swim Area will bring you across the well-known FM 1097 bridge. This mile-long bridge will allow you to see a panoramic view of Lake Conroe. On a beautiful sunny day, you will be able to see the iconic Lake Conroe lighthouse in the distance. You will soon be surrounded by a forest of tall pine trees. This unique park happens to be in the Sam Houston National Forest, and is run by the USDA Forest Service. The amenities at the park include 3 pavilions, picnic tables, fishing areas, parking and restrooms. The swimming area is seasonal, and it open from April through September. There is a public boat ramp that is open year-round. Please call the district office for exact dates at 936-344-6205.

13 acres of playgrounds, barbeque pits, picnic facilities and restrooms as well as swimming areas and fishing piers. Additional amenities include a covered pavilion available for rent, a softball field and volleyball areas.
